Summary

Your shift pattern will include one 6.75-hour day shift to help organise and coordinate sleep studies and one 12-hour night shift a week to support polysomnography studies (alongside senior staff). Typically, the day shift will fall on a Wednesday to coincide with our main teamworking day and an afternoon fortnightly clinic that runs until 17:30. On these Wednesdays, a late start will be required to accommodate the clinic. The regular night shift will typically fall on a Thursday, with one Friday night shift each month (rather than the Thursday). Night shift hours are 18:00 to 07:00 with a one-hour break. The responsibilities are as follows: -Support senior sleep physiologists in all aspects of care involved in the delivery specialist diagnostic inpatient and domiciliary sleep studies for children with complex needs (set up, parent training, observation, download), adhering to health and safety policies and SOPs -Manage appointments and databases for all neuro-sleep diagnostics for in-patient and domiciliary sleep studies, liaise with medical/nursing team about specialist needs of children and respond to parent and patient enquiries liaising with families and clinical teams -Responsible for safe use, cleaning and maintenance of expensive and highly complex specialist sleep study equipment -Efficient time management of self, and in relation to other staff. -NVQ 3 in appropriate health care module or equivalent education and training or experience -Proven experience in a caring role involving children -Computer skills- data base and record keeping -Ability to work a Wednesday day shift (including a late start and working until 17:30 on alternate Wednesdays) and one night shift per week (typically a Thursday, with one Friday night shift each month (rather than the Thursday))
