Summary
Clinical responsibilities Provide advanced Orthoptic assessment, diagnosis and management across core and subspeciality clinics Be the primary Orthoptic contact for paediatric nystagmus service Contribute to multidisciplinary clinics including motility, toxin, variety of paediatric sub-specialties Work autonomously at a network site, taking responsibility for triage, referral and management Communication and MDT working Communicate complex information sensitively with patients and families Provide accurate documentation and correspondence Liaise with MDT colleagues, family support teams and safeguarding services Education, supervision and leadership Provide perceptorship support for new graduate Deliver teaching to a variety of health care professionals Supervise students, junior colleagues and trainees as required Support monthly strabismus service teaching Professional Development Maintain HCPC registration and CPD portfolio Engage in reflective practice
