An opportunity to join an experienced, versatile team, providing stores support in a sports environment.

Position Overview

Working closely with military Physical Trainers, the post holder will manage the sports equipment store within the site Sports and Recreation Centre.

Main Responsibilities



-To provide contracted stores support to the PT Department.

-Ensure all equipment and clothing is in a good state of repair in readiness for issue to staff and trainees using the facilities.

-Ensure SARC Sports Store is always kept safe and clean.

-Complete daily equipment checks and inform the CPOPT when new equipment is required.

-Liaise with CPOPT or his representative for daily programmed events in the SARC.

-Maintain a register of all equipment held in SARC Sports Store, ensuring all irregularities or losses are reported at the earliest opportunity.

-Launder sports related clothing as required using on site facilities.

-Undertake any additional tasks as determined by the Line Manager.

The successful candidate will be well-organised, precise, confident with credible communication skills readily able and willing to contribute at all levels. In addition, the individual will be versatile, intuitive, and professional with good judgement and absolute integrity. Pro-active and when required and responsive to changing needs of the business and demands of the customer, while remaining calm under pressure and self-motivated, the incumbent will be reliable and well presented, giving a positive image of MITIE company values. In addition, the following is needed.

-Good organisational and motivational skills and a high degree of integrity.

-Proven track record of delivering a quality service with customer facing experience.

-Persuasive and credible verbal and written communicator with the ability to develop close working relationships.

-IT literate.

-Proactive approach and the ability to embrace change.

-Ability to manage short notice changes to requirements and deadline.

-Good standard of education.



Additional Information

MOD security clearance and DBS Standard required. To meet national security vetting requirements, you will normally need to have been resident in the UK for at least 3 years to gain a Counter Terrorist Check, 5 years for Security Clearance and 10 years for Developed Vetting prior to the date of application. All Developed Vetted posts are required to be UK Nationals.

Proof of right to work in UK essential

The Contract operates a 26 hour working week between the hours of 0730 and 1700 Mon to Fri only.

Required to wear approved company work wear.
