Summary

**1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary School (LS29)Start: ASAP | Full-time to July 2026**


A welcoming and supportive primary school in Burley-in-Wharfedale (LS29) is looking for an experienced 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 pupil on a bespoke timetable. This is a full-time role (8:30am-3:30pm) starting as soon as possible and running until July 2026.


The pupil is bright, enthusiastic and forms positive relationships, but can find a busy classroom setting overwhelming. The school has created a tailored plan including a personalised workspace, consistent rewards and clear behaviour strategies. They now need a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide stability, consistency and encouragement throughout the school day.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualised 1:1 support throughout lessons and transitions.
  • Follow and deliver a bespoke timetable tailored to the pupil's needs.
  • Support the pupil with focus, emotional regulation and positive engagement.
  • Work closely with the SENCO, learning mentor and senior leadership team.
  • Assist with evidence and preparation for the EHCP application process.


What We're Looking For

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN, ideally including ADHD.
  • Ability to build a positive, trusting relationship using firm but supportive boundaries.
  • Confidence in implementing behaviour strategies and maintaining engagement.
  • A calm, patient and adaptable approach to challenges.
