Are you an experienced Primary Teaching Assistant with a passion for early learning and literacy?
TeacherActive is currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Greater Manchester, who are looking for a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant to support in the classroom across EYFS or KS1. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years' experience and be confident delivering phonics sessions, with additional experience in small group interventions highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality teaching and learning


  • Lead or assist with targeted phonics sessions (e.g., Letters and Sounds, Read Write Inc., or Jolly Phonics)


  • Deliver structured intervention groups in core subjects such as reading, writing or maths


  • Adapt learning activities to meet the needs of pupils with SEND, EAL or lower prior attainment


  • Foster a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment


  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to the class teacher


    The Ideal Candidate Will:
    • Hold a recognised Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification


    • Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a UK primary school setting


    • Be confident leading phonics groups and supporting early reading development


    • Have experience delivering academic interventions or booster groups


    • Be proactive, organised and committed to pupil progress


    • Demonstrate a clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
