Havencare is a forward-thinking and growing charity. We have been making a difference for 35 years, changing the lives of people who have learning disabilities, autism, brain injuries, and other support needs. Our big aims include every person having a home that is right for them, and support for the life they choose.

At Havencare, first and foremost, we are looking for outstanding people who align with our values of Transparency, Quality and Engagement.

We’re looking for a kind, reliable person to join our small team supporting a lovely lady who lives in Mutley.

This role is all about supporting her to live life her way. Promoting independence, respecting her choices, and encouraging her to stay involved in everyday tasks is really important to us. We don’t “do for” — we “do with”.

She enjoys getting out and about and making the most of life. Her favourite things include going out for drives, visiting National Trust parks, and enjoying meals out — especially coffee and cake! Supporting her to access the community and continue doing the things she loves is a big part of this role, so a full driving licence is essential.

At home, you’ll offer support with daily living tasks such as cooking, light household chores, and maintaining a safe and comfortable home — always encouraging her independence and involvement wherever possible.

We’re looking for someone who is warm, patient, and genuinely enjoys building meaningful working relationships. Someone who understands the importance of dignity, choice, and supporting someone to stay in control of their own life.

About the usual working pattern and essential for the role:

Friday: 4– 10pm

Week 2
