This energetic position involves performing a variety of cleaning and custodial tasks. Your attention to detail and proactive approach will ensure that all spaces are spotless, well-maintained, and compliant with health and safety standards. Working independently, you’ll contribute to creating a positive atmosphere for clients, residents, and staff alike.
Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough cleaning of offices, restrooms, hallways, lobbies, and other designated areas using appropriate cleaning tools and supplies.
- Conduct floor care activities such as sweeping, mopping, buffing, and polishing to keep surfaces looking their best.
- Handle janitorial duties including trash removal, restocking supplies, disinfecting high-touch surfaces, and maintaining cleanliness standards.
- Carry out industrial cleaning tasks in warehouses or manufacturing facilities, including equipment cleaning and debris removal.
- Assist with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, painting touch-ups (residential painting), and ensuring equipment is operational.
- Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly.
- Support portering duties by moving furniture or equipment as needed to facilitate cleaning or maintenance projects.
- Follow safety protocols at all times to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in cleaning, janitorial work, custodial services, or related fields.
- Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing and polishing for various flooring types.
- Familiarity with commercial cleaning procedures and industrial cleaning practices.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, steam cleaners, and pressure washers safely and effectively.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform thorough cleaning tasks efficiently.
- Good physical stamina to stand, bend, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks in fast-paced environments.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team setting.
- Preferred qualifications include janitorial experience in commercial or industrial settings, residential painting skills for touch-up projects, facilities maintenance knowledge, and prior porter or custodial experience.
