Summary

After appointment: The Fellow will complete six months of training in each centre. The Fellow will be expected to gain competency in a pre-agreed selection of IO procedures, with sign-off from the lead trainer in each centre. These will include both transarterial and percutaneous techniques in the management of cancer. Disease-modifying techniques to be learned include, but are not limited to: percutaneous ablation, transarterial tumour embolisation, and radioembolisation. A full range of skills in supportive IO techniques, from biopsy to complex stenting, will also be included. Fellows will be expected to participate in audit and research as directed by the lead trainer in each centre, with the aim of presenting at an international conference. Applications will receive extra merit for a plan to deploy the skills acquired to set up new services or expand existing services. The role will involve cross site working to take full advantage of the specialist services delivered at each site. We anticipate at least 6 PAs will be dedicated to IR activities, with other PAs for reporting, doctor of the day commitments and SPA. Applicants should hold full GMC registration and be within 6 months of achieving CCT in the 6 years RCR Interventional Radiology training scheme. Other equivalent radiology training experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis
