Summary
Location: Kent (Office-based, 5 days per week)

We are working with a Kent-based PLC housebuilder who is looking to appoint an experienced Buyer to join their established Commercial team. This is a key role within a high-volume residential business, supporting multiple live developments across the region.
The successful candidate will have proven experience working for a volume housebuilder and a strong understanding of residential construction procurement.
The RoleReporting into the Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for the procurement of materials and plant in line with build programmes, ensuring value for money, quality, and continuity of supply.
Key responsibilities include:

Procuring materials and plant for multiple residential developments

Negotiating prices, terms, and agreements with suppliers

Placing and managing orders in line with build schedules

Maintaining strong supplier relationships

Working closely with Commercial, Construction, and Technical teams

Ensuring compliance with internal procurement procedures

Monitoring market conditions and identifying cost-saving opportunities

Proven Buyer experience within a volume housebuilder is essential

Strong background in residential construction procurement

Excellent negotiation and commercial skills

Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects

Confident working in a fast-paced, office-based environment

Experience with COINS or similar procurement systems (desirable)

£50,000 - £60,000 salary, depending on experience
