Summary
Felcon design and manufacture bespoke Cleanroom, Laboratory, and Healthcare equipment used in critical environments across the UK and beyond. Founded in 1971 and proudly engineered in the UK, Felcon continues to grow — and we’re now looking for a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our Mechanical Fit-Out Department.
As a Mechanical Fitter, you’ll be hands-on with the full range of products, assembling high-quality stainless steel and thermoplastic systems built to exacting standards. This is a true build role, not repetitive production. Every project is different. You’ll work closely with Engineering, Production, and fellow fitters to turn specialist designs into fully functioning, real-world equipment.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Mechanical assembly and fit-out of bespoke engineered equipment
• Confident use of hand tools, machine tools, and precision measuring
instruments (verniers, micrometers, etc.)
• Working from technical drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions
• Managing single and multiple builds simultaneously
• Collaborating with colleagues across shared projects
• Supporting other departments where required
• Assisting with on-site installation and servicing, including occasional overnight
stays
What We’re Looking For
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Mechanical Fitter (or similar role)
• NVQ / City & Guilds in Engineering Fitting (desirable)
• Strong mechanical aptitude with a high attention to detail
• Comfortable working on one-off, bespoke builds
• CSCS Card (desirable)
• Full UK driving licence (preferred, not essential)
• Legal right to work in the UK
Must be within a commutable distance to Newhaven.
Why Join Felcon?
• Competitive salary
• 39-hour week with an early Friday finish
• 20 days’ holiday + Bank Holidays
• Workplace pension scheme
• Paid travel & subsistence for site work
• Free on-site parking
• A genuinely supportive team where craftsmanship is respected
Salary Sacrifice Benefits (after 6 months)
• Cycle-to-Work scheme
• Technology & home electronics scheme
• Additional pension contribution options
• Access to employee discounts & perks
About You
You’re practical, hands-on, and take real pride in doing things properly. You enjoy variety, problem-solving, and building equipment you can stand back and say “I built that.” If you want to work on high-quality engineering projects, develop your skills, and be part of a company that values its people as much as its products — we’d love to hear from you.
