Winchester City Council is looking for a Landscape Architect / Landscape Design Officer to join the Sustainability and Natural Environment team (SANE), within Winchester City Council.

As part of a team within SANE, your role will be to provide professional landscape design support to a variety of the Council's functions (including design and delivery of landscape projects, open space, play areas, development management and strategic planning); to protect, maintain and enhance landscape and townscape character, quality and local distinctiveness; and to promote quality spaces within Winchester City and the district.

Your role will be to facilitate the delivery of key work programmes relating to play areas, skate parks and recreational facilities, to ensure effective community engagement, project management, procurement and delivery and to manage the council’s play areas refurbishment programme.

An ability to work independently as well as part of a team is essential, as is good organisational skills and an ability to manage your own workload and time. This role will see you come into contact with members of the public, partners, contractors & suppliers, planners and councillors, as well as other sections of the council, so excellent communication skills are a must.
