About the job.
We're looking for a Cost Intelligence Team Leader to join our Business Services Directorate! This role is a key part of the team where you will be responsible for providing advice/support across directorates to develop National Highways capability as an informed and intelligent commercial client.
But that's not all, you'll ensure that the cost base and cost drivers across programmes are evaluated, tracked, and understood by the relevant management teams. You'll drive the conversion of cost data to information and intelligence and advise on the use of cost intelligence to inform process and investment decisions.
- Leading, managing, developing, and motivating a cost intelligence team and ensuring that team members comply with all relevant health and safety policy and processes.
- Supporting the design and implementation of end-to-end sub processes for efficiency generation, delivery and assurance, and cost capture and cost base reporting.
- Developing, implementing and maintaining key cost analysis processes, systems, controls and forecasting, ensuring that the correct software and support is in place for the business to deliver high quality reporting and advice.
- Provide specialist advice across the organisation on cost intelligence and efficiency, to act as a centre of excellence for unit cost and its application in business improvement.
- Working closely with stakeholders to forecast, monitor and understand cost variation and risk.

- Understanding of cost drivers and experience of developing unit cost analysis.

External candidates will be offered a starting salary at the lower end of the pay scale, while current employees will be appointed in accordance with our established pay policy.
