Hays Property & Surveying is working in partnership with a respected Housing Association committed to delivering high‑quality homes and excellent customer service. Due to an increase in planned investment and upgrade works across their stock, they are looking to appoint an experienced Planned Maintenance Surveyor on an initial 3‑month contract, with a strong opportunity to become permanent.


Your New Role

As a Planned Maintenance Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing and delivering a programme of planned works and housing upgrade projects across the organisation's residential portfolio. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out planned maintenance and condition surveys across housing stock
  • Preparing work specifications, schedules of rates and technical reports
  • Managing contractors to ensure works are delivered on time, within budget and to required standards
  • Overseeing a range of upgrade and refurbishment projects, including kitchens, bathrooms, windows, roofs and energy‑efficiency improvements
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, standards and health & safety requirements
  • Providing professional advice, technical support and excellent service to residents and stakeholders
  • Updating asset data and contributing to future investment planning

This role offers hybrid working, with a blend of site visits, office collaboration and home‑based working.


What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Experience in planned maintenance, property surveying or asset management within housing
  • Strong understanding of building pathology, planned works, and construction standards
  • Ability to manage contractors and monitor project delivery effectively
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A relevant qualification (HNC/HND, degree or equivalent) is beneficial but not essential.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
