Summary
We’re looking for enthusiastic Business Support Apprentices to join our Central Business Support Service. This is a great opportunity to earn while you learn, gain real‑world experience and develop valuable skills in a fast‑paced, supportive environment.
You’ll build skills in administration, communication and problem‑solving, with hands‑on training and mentoring to support your development.
Our Vision
A Centre of Excellence for Business Support, delivering a professional, high‑quality, flexible service for our customers.
If you’re keen to learn, enjoy helping others and want to grow your career, we’d love to hear from you.
Your Role
We’re looking for Business Support Apprentices to join our Central Business Support Service. You’ll move between different teams across Children’s Services, Corporate Services, Environment and other areas, giving you the chance to learn lots of new skills and gain a wide range of experience.
As an apprentice, you’ll support internal and external customers by responding to everyday queries via email and telephone. Your work will be varied and could include helping with finance and invoicing, supporting legal processes, dealing with complaints and public enquiries, entering information into specialist systems, taking meeting notes, using spreadsheets and supporting reception duties. No two days will be the same, and you’ll be supported to learn as you go.
About You
This role involves working with sensitive and confidential information, so being careful and accurate is really important. You don’t need to know everything on day one – we’re looking for someone who is keen to learn, communicates well and enjoys helping others.
You’ll be organised, pay attention to detail and be happy to ask questions, use your initiative and manage your time. Most importantly, you’ll enjoy working as part of a supportive team where you can build confidence, develop new skills and grow in your career.
If your application is successful, we’d love to invite you to interview and get to know you better.
Your Application
We encourage all applicants to read the Role Profile and Person Specification to understand the role in more detail. If you’d like an informal chat or have any questions before applying, please feel free to contact us at Insidebusinesssupport@nelincs.gov.uk
