Summary

Role Description – Mechanical Contracts Manager

Location: Office-based with flexible remote working
Job Type: Full-time

The Mechanical Contracts Manager will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of mechanical, plumbing, and building services projects with values ranging from £50k to £5 million. The role requires close collaboration with mechanical and electrical teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to a high standard of quality.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Managing procurement processes, including:

  • Development of technical specifications

    
    

  • Preparation and review of drawings

    
    

  • Plant and equipment schedules

    
    

  • Associated project documentation

    
    
    

  • Managing sub-contractors, site activities, procurement, and supplier ordering

    
    

  • Attending site meetings and resolving technical, coordination, and site-related issues

    
    

  • Organising commissioning activities and compiling handover documentation

    
    

  • Ensuring the timely and successful delivery of all assigned projects

    
    

  • Managing and coordinating interfaces between mechanical, electrical, and other trades

    
    

  • Using AutoCAD to develop, review, and coordinate drawings

    
    

    Qualifications & Experience

    The successful candidate will demonstrate:

    • Experience in procurement, cost management, and commercial control

      
      

    • Proven ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and deliver on programme

      
      

    • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical building services systems

      
      

    • Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills

      
      

    • Familiarity with all relevant health and safety regulations

      
      

    • Strong commercial awareness

      
      

    • A team-oriented approach with the ability to work effectively within a wider MEP team
