Summary

Service & Operational Management Manage daytoday dialysis service operations, including staffing, scheduling, equipment, and supply procurement Liaise with Procurement & Contract team for efficient, costeffective purchasing Coordinate with multidisciplinary medical teams to optimise care delivery and maximise patient dialysis sessions Participate in monthly budget reviews with the Business Manager Control costs through efficient resource use Ensure overtime and bank usage requests are appropriate and policycompliant Maintain effective consumables stock control Submit accurate and timely financial activity data: Patient activity data Staff payroll data Personal expense reports Promote and maintain excellent professional relationships with patients and Trust staff to support business excellence and partnership working Staffing & Professional Development Recruit, supervise, and appraise dialysis unit staff Ensure compliance with mandatory and professional training Lead and manage team behaviour to promote a respectful, inclusive, and professional environment Address conduct issues promptly and appropriately Support staff development and performance management with HR Monitor and manage attendance and absence in line with organisational policies Encourage a positive, inclusive, and respectful team culture Attend required training to support staff/patient health & safety and infection prevention & control Promote and engage staff in the Shared Care Programme Quality, Governance & Standards Ensure compliance with organisational and national quality frameworks (e.g., ISO9001, IEC62653) Maintain robust quality management systems Support regulatory readiness and clinical governance initiatives Participate in audits, incident management, risk management, and rootcause analyses Ensure compliance with NHS Wales/England policies and standards Drive continuous quality and patient safety improvements Communication & Stakeholder Engagement Maintain effective communication with patients, families, clinicians, and external partners (e.g., WAST, renal hubs, primary care, renal charities) Represent the unit in multidisciplinary and managerial forums Liaise with Trust partners, Renal Network, and patient representatives Support new initiatives and research studies to improve dialysis therapy Sustainability & Environmental Stewardship Lead and promote sustainable clinical practice aligned with organisational and national frameworks (e.g., Green Dialysis) Support resourceefficient operations, including reducing energy use, optimising water consumption, and minimising waste Champion recycling, waste segregation, and responsible disposal of clinical materials Work with procurement to identify sustainable products, suppliers, and technologies Embed sustainability principles into staff culture through training and awareness Monitor environmental performance metrics and contribute to reporting, improvement plans, and sustainability audits Administration & Performance Monitoring Maintain accurate patient treatment records, staffing logs, and service metrics Develop and monitor operational KPIs with the Lead Nurse and Business Manager Ensure customer reports relating to product quality complaints or adverse drug reactions are documented and forwarded to Regulatory Affairs the same day Undertake any other duties that do not change the nature of the post Act professionally at all times to promote a positive image of the company
