Summary
Specialist Breast Imaging (80%): The successful candidate will have the opportunity to obtain 1 year highly specialist training in a Breast Imaging at Cambridge Breast Unit. The Unit provides a comprehensive outpatient facility for the diagnosis and management of breast disease both in the symptomatic and screening settings. The breast service is provided by a cohesive, highly motivated, multidisciplinary team. The Unit treats over 500 breast cancers per annum (approximately 6,000 symptomatic patients referral each year and 20,000 screening patients including high risk screening). Patients and the management of all breast disease is driven by unit guidelines and all patients are considered for local and national clinical trials. The Unit has the latest imaging technology including Tomosynthesis, Contrast Enhanced Spectral Mammography (CESM), elastography, CESM biopsy, MRI guided biopsy, stereotactic and ultrasound vacuum biopsies. The Cambridge Breast Unit is committed to delivering excellence in both clinical care and breast cancer research. As a result, the unit has now developed a national and international reputation with many Consultant with a national and international profile. General radiology sessions (20%): Reporting chest and body CT, presentation at clinico-radiological meetings.
