HM Coastguard (HMCG) is the operational arm of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) with responsibility for 6 key missions - Search and Rescue, Pollution Response, Vessel Traffic Management, Maritime Safety, Maritime Security and Emergency and Disaster management.

To provide effective and efficient administrative support to HM Coastguard Operations to ensure a high level of customer service is given to both internal and external stakeholders.

Your responsibilities will include, but aren’t limited to:

1. Ensuring appropriate Operational Support resource is allocated for the administrative support for national functions.

2. Providing resource for full executive secretariat functions and managing administrative tasks for HMCG management operational meetings and working groups as required.

3. Management of the HMCG uniform ordering process.

4. Providing Operational Support resource to HMCG Operations.

5. Management and administration of team email inboxes.

6. Line management activities of the reporting officers including conducting performance management reviews, staff welfare, leave and absence requests and authorisation of staff travel and expenses.

You will line manage 5-7 direct reports. Great line management is important to us as an organisation, and we will equip and support line managers to develop the skills they need. We aim to empower line managers to create teams where people can flourish and deliver excellent outcomes for the public.
