Summary
Role:
Creation of quotations via the development of customer drawings and CAD data, ranging from single sheet metal components to full multi-level assemblies.
Re-costing and updating of pricing for all on-going legacy production work as required.
Data input and analysis to a production management and planning system (MRP).
Some purchasing duties for raw materials, fasteners, fittings and general engineering consumables.
Communicating requirements to subcontractors regarding finishing and machining needs.
Liaise with customers regarding product Design For Manufacture issues and identifying cost reduction potentials.
General CAD 2D drawing creation and interrogation. 3D not essential.
Background:
General engineering / fine limit sheet metalwork background.
Good understanding of engineering drawing conventions and control.
Experience / knowledge of CNC production processes and methods.
Knowledge of finishing processes, powder coat / paint and electroplating.
Good communication skills to clearly discuss with customers any technical issues, product design or problem solving matters.
