Start Date: 02 March 2026
About the Client
London Borough of Islington’s Homes & Neighbourhoods directorate is committed to delivering safe, well-maintained estates and high‑quality services to residents. The Estate Services team plays a key role in ensuring estates are clean, safe, compliant, and responsive to local needs. This role supports the operational delivery of estate services across a defined geographical area.
The Role
The Estate Services Coordinator will oversee the day‑to‑day delivery of estate services across multiple sites, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, safety, and customer care. Lead, supervise, and support a large, geographically dispersed team delivering estate services.
Manage performance, attendance, and conduct, including addressing sickness and capability concerns.
Ensure estates are maintained to high standards through regular inspections and quality checks.
Oversee compliance with health and safety legislation, fire safety requirements, and safe working practices.
Respond to complex service issues, complaints, and operational challenges.
Coordinate resources, schedules, and workloads to meet service demands.
Build strong working relationships with residents, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
Produce reports, maintain records, and support continuous service improvement.
Candidate Requirements
Considerable experience in staff management, including performance and attendance management.
Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to excellent customer service.
Proven ability to lead, motivate, and supervise a large and diverse team.
Knowledge and practical understanding of health and safety legislation and fire safety.
Experience delivering services to the public and handling complex operational issues.
Ability to work predominantly on site across multiple estates.
Candidates with only administrative experience, housing officers without staff management experience, or caretakers without leadership responsibilities will not meet the requirements for this role.
