The role

We are embarking on an exciting journey to provide an extensive capital works programme following a full condition survey of our housing stock. To achieve this we are looking to appoint two Planned Works Surveyors who can help deliver a number of work programmes. Working within the Property Assets team and reporting to the Principal Planned Works Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the delivery of the planned works improvement programme to Council owned properties.

You will be part of a team working to ensure the Council meets its statutory obligations to provide tenants with safe and well maintained homes.

The successful candidate will be a team player and will fit seamlessly into our busy team, sharing our commitment to deliver excellence.

What are we looking for?

Building/ Surveying qualification in a relevant field
A minimum of 2 years relevant experience (desirable)
A good working knowledge of building construction, property defects, contract management and procurement
Good ICT skills
The ability to be able to work both independently and as part of a wider team
An understanding of related building and housing regulations and legislation.
Experience of working in the public sector (desirable) 
Relevant technical qualification (desirable)
