Hays Education are delighted to offer a full-time 1:1 Individual Needs Assistant (INA) role based at a welcoming mainstream primary school in Barkham. This role is to support a Year 4 pupil with behavioural needs and will run from after half-term through to the end of the academic year.

The Role
As a 1:1 Individual Needs Assistant, you will:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a Year 4 pupil with behavioural challenges.
- Support the pupil throughout the school day, both in and out of the classroom.
- Implement behaviour support strategies in line with the school's policies.
- Help the pupil remain engaged with learning and daily routines.
- Use the pupil's interests, particularly music, to build rapport and encourage engagement.
- Support emotional regulation, social interaction, and positive behaviour choices.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow agreed strategies and targets.
- Ensure the pupil feels safe, supported, and understood throughout the day.
Candidate Requirements
We are looking for someone who is:
* Experienced working with children with behavioural needs, ideally in a school setting.
* Calm, patient, and resilient, with a consistent and nurturing approach.
* Confident managing challenging behaviour in a positive and proactive manner.
* Able to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
* Creative and flexible in their approach, using interests such as music to support engagement.
* A reliable and committed team player who can work Monday to Friday.
Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, SEN TA, or 1:1 Support Assistant would be highly beneficial.
