Summary
**Fixed Term/Secondment Opportunity until 31/08/2026**
This is a unique opportunity to join a growing Radiotherapy Late Effects Service that is making a real difference to people living with and beyond cancer. Established as a project service 2.5 years ago, the service has demonstrated clear patient benefit and is now expanding with the intention of becoming a permanent service.
You will be a key part of a small, supportive and highly motivated team, working closely with a Therapeutic Radiographer and the Service Lead. The role is varied and rewarding, combining core administrative responsibilities with the chance to contribute to service development and improvement. Duties include appointment scheduling, general administration, typing clinical letters from dictation, correspondence with the wider multidisciplinary team, minute taking, and accurate data entry. There is also scope to support data analysis for service evaluation if you have the skills and interest.
We offer a positive, respectful working environment where collaboration, compassion and professionalism are central to everything we do. You’ll be valued for your contribution, supported to develop, and encouraged to bring ideas that help shape the future of the service.
If you’re organised, proactive, patient-focused and want to be part of a service that truly reflects our hospital values and improves patient experience, this is a role where your work will genuinely matter.
The post holder will provide comprehensive administrative support to the Radiotherapy Late Effects Service, ensuring the smooth, efficient and patient-centred running of the service. You will act as a key point of contact for patients and professionals, supporting timely communication and coordination across the multidisciplinary team.
Key duties include managing appointment scheduling and clinic coordination, preparing clinical correspondence from dictation, maintaining accurate patient records and databases, and handling incoming queries with professionalism and empathy. You will liaise with secretarial teams and external services, ensuring information is shared appropriately and in line with confidentiality requirements. Minute taking at service meetings and supporting service evaluation through data entry and analysis where appropriate, are also core aspects of the role.
We are looking for someone who is highly organised, reliable and proactive, with excellent communication skills and attention to detail. You should be comfortable working independently, able to prioritise competing tasks, and confident using IT systems. Compassion, discretion and a genuine commitment to supporting people living with and beyond cancer are essential.
