Summary

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Lincolnshire to assist with the appointment of a Finance Technician, on a 5-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £13.50 - £17.62 per hour

Summary:

This role supports senior finance staff in delivering effective financial planning, budget monitoring, and financial reporting across revenue and capital budgets. The postholder works closely with budget managers to provide accurate financial information, support value-for-money decisions, and ensure strong financial control and statutory compliance.

Responsibilities:

Support revenue and capital budget preparation, monitoring, and year-end closure
Provide financial information and analysis to budget managers and senior staff
Maintain financial records, including journals and budget virements
Review outturn projections and support forecasting accuracy
Assist with statutory returns, FOI responses, and bank reconciliations
Support value-for-money reviews and efficiency savings monitoring
Qualifications:

Minimum 5 GCSEs (A–C or equivalent) including English and Mathematics
Studying towards or holding AAT (Foundation level), CAT, or NVQ Level 2 in Accounting (or equivalent)
Essential Requirements:

Experience supporting budget monitoring, financial reporting, or final accounts
Understanding of public sector finance principles
Strong numerical, analytical, and Excel skills
Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues
