Summary
Do you believe football can change the direction of a young person’s life?
At Sky Blues in the Community, the official charity of Coventry City Football Club, we use the power of football to connect communities, tackle inequality, support wellbeing, and create opportunities across Coventry and Warwickshire. Every day we work with girls and young women who deserve high quality coaching, safe environments, and a pathway that helps them progress and stay in the game.
We are recruiting a female football development coordinator to lead and strengthen our girls’ and women’s football offer, including our FA talent identification pathway and our emerging talent centre provision. If you are an outstanding coach with a strong understanding of player development, inclusion, and talent progression, this is an opportunity to shape provision that has real impact at both grassroots and pathway level.
Why this role matters
Girls’ and women’s football is growing rapidly, but participation and progression are not equally accessible. This role exists to ensure that our programmes are not only ambitious and high quality, but genuinely inclusive and representative. You will help create environments where girls feel they belong, where potential is identified early, and where players are supported to develop confidence, competence, and a lasting love of football.
You will also play a pivotal role in delivering our organisational objectives around equality, opportunity and community impact. In practical terms, that means building a strong local pathway, improving the quality and consistency of coaching, supporting talent identification, and ensuring that any player with potential can access our programmes, regardless of background or starting point.
Your base will be within the Sky Blues in the Community environment, with delivery across Coventry and Warwickshire. You will be part of a charity with strong community reach and a clear mission, where your work has visible outcomes for players, families, schools and local clubs. You will work alongside passionate colleagues who care deeply about safeguarding, inclusion and player centred development, and you will be able to shape a programme that continues to grow.
