About the Direct Payment Holder A family is seeking a caring, patient, and reliable Carer to join a small, long-term team of carers supporting their 10-year-old son. This role has flexible hours, suitable for both regular weekly and ad-hoc applicants.
Hours and rate of pay £18.92 per hour on a self-employed basis
Location Herts (WD23)
DBS/Checks Confirmation of DBS check
Right to Work and references will be needed.
Training Training will be offered to enable to complete the mandatory training required:
• Introduction to first aid
• Health and Safety / Moving and handling

What you would be doing…
• After-school care and school pick-ups (car essential)
• Evening babysitting and weekend support
• Ad-hoc hours during school holidays
• Occasional family trips or holidays
• Weekend work
• It would be lovely to get someone on school pick ups, but equally we would consider someone only available after school or weekends.
Hours are negotiable, up to approximately 6 hours at a time. Both regular and ad-hoc applicants are welcome.


Required skills and experience
Key Responsibilities

• Providing personal care, including changing and dressing
• Supporting communication using non-verbal methods
• Preparing food for the child as required (not family meals)
• Accompanying the child on outings and activities
• Supporting the child in the home and community in a safe, encouraging way

Requirements

• Willingness to provide personal care
• Own car with business use included on insurance
• Public liability insurance (if not covered by employer’s insurance)
• Willingness to prepare food for the child
• Experience with non-verbal children or children with additional needs is desirable, but training can be provided
