Summary
Job Title: Breakfast Chef
Location: Grosvenor Hotel, Plymouth
Contract Type: To be discussed (Zero-hours or part-time considered)
About the Role
The Grosvenor Hotel in Plymouth is looking for a reliable and organised Breakfast Chef to prepare and serve breakfast for hotel guests while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and presentation.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys early starts, works well independently, and takes pride in delivering good quality food and service. During quieter days, the successful candidate will also be required to assist with serving guests and may support reception where required.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Preparing and cooking breakfast items to hotel standards
Setting up and maintaining the breakfast service area
Monitoring food stock and reporting shortages
Following all food hygiene and safety procedures
Cleaning kitchen equipment and preparation areas after service
Ensuring correct food storage and temperature checks are completed
Supporting with basic kitchen organisation and stock rotation
Providing friendly and professional interaction with guests when required
Serving guests during quieter periods where required
May support reception duties during quieter periods where required
Managing and communicating allergen information to guests accurately
Following hotel allergen procedures and Natasha’s Law requirements where applicable
Hours & Contract
Early morning shifts required
Typical shift window between approximately 6:00 AM – 11:00 AM (subject to business levels)
Some flexibility may be required
Pay
National Minimum Wage or above depending on experience
About You
Essential
Aged 18 or over
Previous cooking or food preparation experience
Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene Certificate (must be in date)
Good understanding of food hygiene, cross contamination, and safe food handling
Understanding of food allergen controls and responsibilities
Reliable and punctual
Good customer service skills
Desirable
Previous breakfast chef or kitchen experience
Experience working in a hotel or hospitality environment
