Summary

Personal Care Assistant for a senior lady P/T@ £41/weekly in NE24 - FTE - £26.8k

Apply at UKCIL.com. Reference: 7f9fc256

We are looking to recruit a support worker for a minimum of one day per week (to be agreed), with the possibility of two days. The role involves four visits across the day: 1 hour in the morning, 30 minutes at lunchtime, 1 hour at teatime and 30 minutes in the evening. You would also be expected to cover sickness or annual leave for the existing worker when required.

Would you enjoy supporting an elderly lady who is a real character and guaranteed to keep you on your toes? She is young at heart, strong-minded, enjoys shocking people and has a wicked sense of humour. Practical jokes are very much her thing (as long as they’re not on her!). Mischievous would be a fair description.

This private, down-to-earth lady experiences mobility issues at times due to spondylosis and pain. Personal care is an important part of the role, as she takes great pride in her appearance. Support will include showering, particularly due to mobility challenges and occasional episodes of incontinence. With a passion for chocolate and a proper cup of tea, you’ll need to be able to make a good brew and prepare her meals. You will also be responsible for ensuring her medication is taken at the correct times.

She loves old-time music and singing, although if you’re not in tune, she’ll let you know! Trips to buy magazines are a favourite, along with feeding the birds and watering the garden (most likely by you).Described by her family as loving, accepting and an absolute joy to be around, who wouldn’t want this job?
