What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking for a dynamic and inspirational Headteacher to join and lead our warm, open, ambitious school in September 2026.
St Leonard’s is a wonderful, modern build, two form entry school in the heart of Lambeth and part of the Southwark Diocesan Multi-Academy Trust. It is known for its strong ethos based on Christian values that are central to all we do. The school has a strong reputation locally with its high standards, community roots and strong leadership which works in collaboration with other schools within the Trust.
As an Anglican school, we seek to nurture faith and inspire success. Through innovative teaching and working together, we foster independence, respect for one another and a love of learning. A varied curriculum, supported by the message of the Gospel, enables each child to flourish and provides them with the opportunity to achieve and make a positive contribution to society.
We are looking for candidates that:
• Exhibits a clear understanding and appreciation of the Christian faith; committed to fostering a community which reflects this through our shared worship and values.
• Has exceptional, forward thinking leadership attributes and vision that inspire others whilst maintaining the highest expectations for all pupils
• Develop and execute a clear, actionable vision for the school's future, ensuring that strategic plans are realistic, sustainable, and focused on long-term success
• Foster a culture of trust and accountability, empowering staff to work independently towards well-defined and measurable objectives, while providing the necessary support to achieve these goals
• Has honesty and integrity; capable of recognising and drawing on the strengths of the senior team and sharing leadership;
• Ability to work in a changing landscape whilst maintaining and enhancing the schools strong reputation and high academic standards
• Have effective social and communication skills, enabling the incumbent to build inspiring relationships with the local church, staff, children, parents and wider community.
• Be able and ready to work in collaboration with other schools within the Multi-Academy Trust.
