Summary
What skills and experience we're looking for
Due to the retirement of our current well respected and valued headteacher at the end of the academic year, the Governors, staff and pupils of Sandilands Community Primary School are seeking to appoint an inspirational, collaborative and highly motivated Headteacher to fulfil this exciting role in our school from September 2026. At Sandilands every child’s potential is nurtured, every family’s ambitions are supported, and every staff member’s dedication is celebrated. We are committed to developing the whole child and to helping each one to achieve their personal best. We celebrate our diverse community and are proud of the provision that we offer in a safe, calm and caring learning environment. We ensure that the children receive a broad, balanced curriculum that is enriched by visits and visitors.
Sandilands is a two form entry primary school, with a full-time Nursery and very popular wrap around care, via a breakfast and after school club. The move into our new school building in June 2025 has further enhanced our learning environment, offering modern, flexible spaces that support high quality teaching and a wide range of enrichment opportunities. Wythenshawe is a community known for its resilience, generosity and spirit, making it an incredibly rewarding environment for school leadership. Wythenshawe offers a rich network of local services, dedicated professionals and collaborative schools, all committed to raising aspirations and improving outcomes.
We are seeking:
• A new Headteacher who will demonstrate a strong commitment to promoting the ethos of the school, who will be approachable and visible around the school to children, staff, parents and carers.

• A leader whose motivation is to help every child achieve to the best of their abilities and who understands individual children’s needs and the wide range of factors that can impact upon their well-being and achievement.
What the school offers its staff
Governors and staff are highly motivated to support a new Headteacher coming into this post and are committed to working with the new Headteacher to ensure that Sandilands remains a successful school that supports, and is supported by, the whole school community.
