Summary
Prospero Teaching is looking for dedicated and motivational Tutors to support Year 11 learners in the DT6 area (Bridport and surrounding Dorset locations). This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced educators who want flexible, rewarding work helping students prepare for GCSE or Functional Skills exams.
You will provide tailored 1:1 or small‑group tuition in:
- GCSE Maths
- GCSE English
- Functional Skills Maths & English
Your responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering engaging, confidence‑building lessons
- Tracking and reporting learner progress
- Supporting exam preparation and study skills
- Encouraging motivation and a positive learning attitude
- Maintaining accurate attendance and session notes
We're looking for Tutors who are:
- Experienced in supporting GCSE or Functional Skills learners
- Confident teaching Maths and/or English to exam level
- Patient, adaptable and empathetic
- Able to build rapport and work with learners who may have gaps in learning or lower confidence
- Professional, reliable and well‑organised
- Experience with SEN/SEMH is beneficial but not essential
- DT6 - Bridport & surrounding Dorset areas
- Up to 15 hours per week (Work with additional learners to increase hours)
- Flexible daytime availability (school‑hour friendly)
- Opportunities for additional learners if desired
- £25-£30 per hour (dependent on experience)
To work through Prospero Teaching, you must:
- Have the right to work in the UK
- Hold an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply)
- Have at least 1 year of experience in a UK school or tutoring environment
- Be able to provide professional references
- Have up‑to‑date Safeguarding Training (or be happy to complete this)
