No formal qualification? No problem. While a level 3 education/early years qualification is an advantage, it’s not essential. We welcome applicants with diverse experience, whether from the care sector, NHS, childcare, or volunteering with children.
Although there is no typical day for an learning support assistant (LSA) the role will usually involve working within a classroom and on a 1:1 basis to support pupils with special educational needs (SEND), adapting activities, encouraging positive behaviour and helping to maintain a calm learning environment.
What we are are looking for:
A proactive, energetic, and committed individual who can engage pupils and inspire confidence.
Calm, patient, and sensitive, with the ability to comfort children when needed.
A positive attitude and enthusiasm for creating a supportive learning environment.
Experience working with autistic children, social communication barriers, and complex needs is desirable but not essential.
Contract details:
Hours: 13 hours and 20 minutes per week, four mornings per week, term time only (flexibility on which days of the week ) Contract: Fixed term until 31 August 2026 with the potential to be extended (dependent on funding)
Pay: £8,054.21 - £8,859.53 (E3 if unqualified, E4 if level 3 relevant qualification)
Start Date: as soon as possibleInterview: 5 March 2026
