Summary
To provide assessment, treatment, screening, health education services and advice working in accordance with the NMC Code of conduct Provide nursing treatments to Patients independently or in participation with other clinical colleagues working to agreed protocols and guidelines Provide general and specific health screenings to the Practice Patients within agreed protocols and guidelines referring to other members of the clinical team as necessary To manage Patients with chronic diseases Participate in national screening work such as cervical cytology and meet targets delivering the national immunisation and vaccination schedule Nursing procedures to include: Measuring blood pressure Routine injections as prescribed Cervical smears Travel advice and immunisation Vaccinations and immunisations To participate in research within the Practice To be responsible for the efficient running of the treatment room and equipment Select, carry out and interpret results of specific tests Ensure all statutory regulations (e.g. Infection control, Health & Safety, COSHH, etc.) are implemented and adhered to To maintain accurate, comprehensive records of all consultations and treatments in the Patients notes, both written and computerised Ensure accurate completion of all necessary documentation associated with Patient health care and registration with the Practice Ensure collection of statistical information is required for regular and ad hoc reports To have working knowledge of equipment used in the surgery Ensure compliance with Patient confidentiality at all times in line with current legislation Contribute to the development of new Patient services Inform your line manager of any reported or suspected failings in the provision of care within the Practice
