English Teacher – Part-time, long-term temporary role starting April 2026


This school provides a positive, structured, and well-supported learning environment where pupils benefit from clear routines, encouraging staff, and purposeful teaching. Leaders work collaboratively with teachers to maintain high expectations, ensuring pupils feel safe, motivated, and confident in their learning. Pupils respond well to consistent guidance and lessons that promote curiosity, resilience, and steady academic progress.

Duties as English Teacher:

  • Teach English lessons on a part-time basis across relevant year groups
  • Deliver well-structured and engaging lessons that support progress
  • Promote positive behaviour and maintain calm routines
  • Adapt teaching to meet varied learning needs
  • Assess pupil understanding during lessons and provide feedback
  • Contribute to departmental collaboration and consistent practice
  • Support pupils in developing reading, writing, and analytical skills
  • Uphold safeguarding standards and prioritise pupil welfare

Ideal English Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching English
  • Strong subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4
  • Confident classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Ability to inspire and motivate pupils of different abilities
  • Good organisational and communication skills
  • Proactive, reflective, and committed to supporting pupil progress
  • Dedicated to safeguarding and promoting pupil well-being
