Job Description:

Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Domiciliary/Community Support Workers to provide high-quality care and support to individuals within the community and home care environments. The role involves supporting service users with daily activities, accessing community and services, ensuring their safety and wellbeing, and fostering a comfortable and respectful environment. Experience in mental health, autism, senior care, dementia or Alzheimer's care, hospice care, or general caregiving is highly desirable. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need while working within a supportive team.

Duties
Assist service users with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
Support service users with accessing community and services
Support with medication administration following prescribed protocols
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
Engage service users in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional wellbeing
Support service users with correspondences, benefits, bills, and finance and budgeting
Monitor and report on service users' health status and behaviour changes
Provide emotional support and companionship to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation
Assist with light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment
Support service users with mobility, including heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring safety at all times
Drive service users to appointments or outings as required, maintaining safe driving practices
Manage behaviour effectively, especially in cases involving mental health, dementia or Alzheimer's disease
Qualifications
Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home care, or home support roles is preferred
Knowledge of patient care techniques including medication administration and first aid certification is advantageous
Experience with mental health, dementia, Alzheimer's care, hospice care or senior support is highly desirable
Ability to perform physical tasks required for caregiving duties
Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide compassionate support
Valid driving licence for transportation duties (preferred but not essential)
Flexibility to work various shifts including days and evenings as needed
A caring attitude with a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for others
