Summary
CNC Miller (Heidenhain)
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per annum
Location: Huddersfield
We are currently seeking an experienced CNC Miller to join a well-established engineering business based in Huddersfield. This is a great opportunity for a skilled machinist to work with high-spec machinery in a precision engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC machines to carry out precision machining operations
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications
Select, install, and set cutting tools, fixtures, and work holding equipment
Monitor machining processes to ensure quality and adherence to specifications
Adjust machine settings to maintain accuracy and product quality
Inspect finished components to ensure they meet required tolerances
Troubleshoot and resolve machining or quality issues as they arise
Mazak turning experience is preferred but not essential
Machinery You’ll Be Working On
SCHARMANN Twin Pallet Horizontal & Depo 1212 – Heidenhain control
Depo 1212 Machining Centre – Heidenhain TNC 530 control
Skills & Experience Required
Previous experience as a CNC Miller or in a similar machining role
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
Strong understanding of machining principles and mechanical processes
Familiarity with tooling, power tools, and hand tools used in machining
Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings
Knowledge of SolidWorks and CAD software would be advantageous
