Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic Neurological Occupational Therapist if you are an experienced band 5 or an existing band 6 keen to develop your expertise working with neurological conditions.

You will be part of well coordinated, specialist multi-professional teams which are at the forefront of the rehabilitation agenda in Hackney. We work closely with nursing and therapy colleagues in multi-disciplinary teams across the acute and community teams.

Therapy Services at Homerton Healthcare, St Leonard's Hospital & Orsman Road are dynamic, friendly and welcoming with regular informal social events arranged by staff.

This rotation offers you the chance to work in a variety of settings in a multi-cultural borough:
• Regional Neurological Rehabilitation Unit for Acquired Brain Injury
• Acute in-patient Stroke Unit
• Adult Community Rehabilitation Team
• Integrated Independence Team
• Wheelchair Service

We will give you the opportunity and support to broaden your occupational therapy skills and knowledge base, whilst developing your supervision and leadership skills working alongside specialist senior staff. The rotations are 9 months in duration and are based across 3 locations within Hackney; Homerton Healthcare , St Leonards Hospital & Orsman Road.

You will be encouraged to participate in student placement education, teaching programmes for Band 5 occupational therapists and assistant staff, as well as contribute to service development activities, audit and quality improvement work. You will receive regular supervision and support from senior OT clinicians and there are excellent opportunities and encouragement for continued professional development.
