About the Role
There is an opportunity to join the Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Care Leavers Team, we currently have an opportunity for a Team Manager role within our Service:
You will lead a dynamic team of Personal Advisors and a Senior Practitioner, in supporting our young people’s transition into independence. We are a compassionate and kind service, and this will shine through in your decision making and management of the Team. We are looking for a person who has had experience of working with young people leaving care and knowledge of the asylum processes, Trauma informed practice and decision making, experience of supervising staff and safeguarding experience and knowledge.
An enhanced with barred list DBS check is required for this post.

About You
To apply for this post, you must be able to evidence in your application how you meet the following criteria:
- Professional Social Work Qualification; Relevant Degree or equivalent; Evidence of continued learning and development; Professional Body Membership
- Substantial post qualifying experience of working with children and families; Experience of supervising/managing staff/Social Work students
- Demonstrate the ability to work and support staff in delivering a trauma informed approach when supporting our Care Experienced Young People
- Ability to apply quality standards in performance management to improve staff performance and outcomes for children and young people
- Good working knowledge of supporting unaccompanied young people and immigration processes and experience of working with the Home Office and Immigration processes; Knowledge of relevant guidance and regulation including the Children Act 1989, Working Together 2015, Children and Social Work Act 2017, etc.
- Experience and knowledge of performance management and how to drive performance to achieve improved outcomes for young people
- Experience of driving positive change with staff and supporting purposeful practice. You must also have an understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion.
