Central Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Senior Outreach Worker to work for a street-based outreach service in the Redbridge area providing support and assistance to individuals experiencing homelessness.

• 37.5 hours per week
• Monday - Friday
• Shifts: 6AM - 2:30PM
• Temporary: approx. 2 months
• £17.88 per hour (£15.95 per hour, with £1.93 holiday pay)

Please note; this is an outreach working role and involves travelling across the borough of Redbridge supporting clients in the community.

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver initial street-based assessment and follow-up casework to rough sleepers
• Plan and coordinate outreach shifts using referrals and mapping data
• Refer clients to accommodation and support services via the Pathway
• Lead street counts, hotspot mapping, and rough sleeping data collection
• Liaise with partner agencies and attend planned meetings
• Support access to accommodation, health, housing, and day services
• Lead crisis interventions for complex cases with the Team Manager
• Build partnerships and contribute to service development aligned with national strategies
• Deliver outreach initiatives including cold weather provision
• Support voluntary return and liaise with Immigration Enforcement where appropriate
• Assist with service monitoring, including expenditure and volunteer expenses

What we’re looking for:

• Experience working with clients who are experiencing homelessness
• Knowledge of immigration and benefits entitlement (EEA and non-EEA)
• Understanding of customer-focused services and empowering service users
• Awareness of London and national rough sleeper initiatives and the Single Service Offer
• Understanding of rough sleeping barriers, support services, and planned support principles
• Ability to work under pressure, manage schedules, and dynamically risk-assess situations
• Strong IT skills, including report writing
• Ability to work within multi-agency frameworks and coordinate partner responses
• Flexibility to work early mornings and late evenings to engage rough sleepers
Candidates must confirm their interest as soon as possible, with interviews scheduled shortly after and the appointed candidate expected to start as soon as possible.

Further requirements:

In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria:
• Current valid right to work in the UK
• Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise)
• A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £60)
• Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process
