Summary
This is a strategic and operational leadership role within Powys County Council’s Education Directorate, supporting the delivery of the Transforming Education Strategy, the Sustainable Communities for Learning Programme, and wider capital investment priorities. The postholder will lead on the planning and implementation of school capital
projects ensuring that educational requirements, community needs, and social value outcomes are embedded throughout the project lifecycle.

You are a strategic thinker and collaborative leader with experience incapital programmes and project delivery, along with stakeholder engagement. You bring strong project management skills, a deep understanding of education policy and infrastructure planning, and a commitment to delivering meaningful outcomes for learners, schools, and communities. You are confident managing teams, budgets, and
complex projects, and thrive in a dynamic, multi-agency environment.
What you will do:
You will act as the client-side lead for education capital projects, working closely with Property Design Services, Strategic Property, and other internal and external partners to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with strategic goals. You will also be the Directorate’s link with the Strategic Property Service, Health & Safety Service and the Council’s Planning Department, linking with Local
Development Plans.
