Summary


Vacancies have arisen within the General Medicine Ward Clerk team at the Horton General Hospital for a motivated individual who would enjoy working in a challenging busy environment providing a comprehensive administrative service. The post holder will work closely with the ward manager and all relevant staff members.

The applicant must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively deal with a diverse range of people in a sensitive and confidential manner. Good organisational and IT skills are essential and experience of EPR (Electronic Patient Records) would be an advantage.

The available posts are detailed below. Please confirm on your application which post you are applying for:

31.5 hours per week

Monday 8.30am - 4pm

Tue, Weds, Thurs, Fri 8.30am to 2.30pm



20 hours per week

Mon, Tues, Weds, Thurs, Fri 3.30pm to 7.30pm



12 hours per week

Saturday and Sunday 8.30am - 2.30pm

To provide comprehensive and confidential administrative and clerical support to the ward team in accordance with the departmental and Trust standards. To keep a well organised ward and ensure all relevant systems and processes are kept up to date to ensure smooth patient care from admission to discharge. To provide support and guidance to all colleagues internally and externally in and professional and informed manner.

The successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to team work, covering across the ward clerk/admin team at the Horton, and show an interest in healthcare and supporting the manager. You will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills and an ability to work independently.
