The Role


This is a hands-on role where you will manage, shape, and embed human resources operational services that support effective engagement and development across all business areas within Bield. Working closely with the Head of HR as part of the wider People Team, you will lead and support organisational projects while championing our values and adherence to employment legislation.


You will make a real difference every day through key accountabilities including:


Leading and developing the People Team to provide an efficient and consistent operational HR services that reach across the full employee life-cycle.
Providing expert advice on employee relations issues, including performance, conduct, well-being, and attendance management.
Overseeing all employee lifecycle activities, from recruitment and resourcing to payroll processing and GDPR-compliant record keeping, focusing
Working in partnership with managers and employees to ensure continuous improvement of operational HR services and support effective engagement.

Hours of employment are 35 hours per week, organised over Monday – Friday.


The role can be based in either Edinburgh or Glasgow, with regular travel across Bield sites and the opportunity to work on a hybrid basis.


What We're Looking For


We are seeking a proactive and resilient HR professional who is passionate about delivering a high-quality HR service.


Essential Criteria


Experience at management level in providing comprehensive HR services, including recruitment, HR administration, systems management, and complex employee relations cases.
Experience of managing, developing and setting direction for individuals and teams.
A thorough working understanding of current employment legislation
Educated to degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent calibre demonstrated through employment achievements, ideally supported by membership of CIPD at associated level.
Highly developed project management, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.

Desirable Criteria


Experience of managing multiple projects.
Payroll experience.
A valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel across a dispersed geographical area.
