Summary
Coordinate ordering of products and consumables to facilitate an early discharge which can include nebulisers, suction machines, home oxygen and airway supplies Act as a key contact and source of information for patients, relatives, carers and the multi-professional team to provide support and advice on airway issues. Input and coordinate airway alerts on Nervecentre for all long-term tracheostomy and laryngectomy patients, allowing an email alert to be sent to facilitate a prompt review if they are admitted to hospital. Collaborative working with consultants, speech and language therapists, dieticians and other nurse specialists to deliver cohesive positive patient outcomes To raise public awareness of airway issues/problems To develop a centre of excellence in Airway nursing research To develop evidence to support Airway practice See attached Job Description
