Hourly rate: £17.50
Shift pattern: 4 on, 4 off (days and nights), 12h shifts

The role
We're recruiting a Security Team Leader to oversee a team of Protection Officers supporting a prestigious client within the Aviation & Manufacturing sector. This is a hands-on leadership role, responsible for delivering a safe, secure and resilient manufacturing environment while maintaining exceptional service standards.
You'll lead by example, manage day-to-day operations, and play a key role in incident response, team performance and client satisfaction.
Key responsibilities
-Lead and support the on-site security team, ensuring effective resourcing and absence management
-Maintain agreed service levels and escalate risks or issues to the Operations Manager
-Build strong working relationships with the client and internal stakeholders
-Oversee security operations including access control, patrols, control room and CCTV activity
-Take a leadership role during security, safety and emergency incidents
-Monitor officer performance, addressing low-level issues in line with company processes
-Manage training requirements and compliance records for the team
-Support employment relations matters on site as required
-Ensure all site instructions, policies and procedures are followed
-Promote Mitie's values, professionalism and a strong safety culture
Training & development
You'll complete mandatory and specialist training including: First Aid (FREC 3), fire safety, aviation security, control room and CCTV operations, spill response and emergency procedures.
Health & safety
-Ensure compliance with all company and client H&S policies
-Report hazards, incidents and equipment defects promptly
-Promote safe working practices and correct use of PPE
Person specification
Essential:
-Proven experience in a security leadership or supervisory role
-Valid SIA Door Supervisor licence (CCTV licence or willingness to obtain)
-Excellent communication and customer service skills
-IT literate (Microsoft Office)
-Full UK driving licence and access to transport
-Right to work in the UK with 5-year checkable background
-British nationality or 5 years UK residency (CTC clearance requirement)
-Calm, professional and effective under pressure
Desirable:
-Aviation security experience
-Fire safety experience
-First Aid qualification (FREC 3 or willingness to obtain)
