Crynodeb
My client, who is the full time carer for her husband, is seeking a kind and reliable Personal Assistant to provide support while she takes a break from her caring responsibilities.
Her husband is a bilateral amputee and uses prosthetic legs. He also has sight in only one eye. Before becoming unwell, he lived a very active and well travelled life. He values good conversation, independence, and maintaining as much of his lifestyle as possible. We are looking for someone who can build a trusting relationship with him and support him both at home and in the community
What the Role Involve
• Assisting with mobility around the home and when out in the community.
• Supporting with light personal care, including a shave using an electric razor (he will guide you through this).
• Providing companionship with meaningful conversation — he enjoys talking about the world, culture, and his past travels.
• Going out together for coffee or lunch once rapport and trust are established.
• Offering support that promotes independence, confidence, and engagement in day to day life.
Who We’re Looking or
• A friendly, patient, and respectful person who understands the importance of dignity and independence.
• Someone reliable, supportive, and comfortable with providing light personal care and mobility assistance.
• A person who enjoys being out in the community and helping someone stay connected and socially active.
A driver with business insurance would be highly beneficial to support outings and appointments.
This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check (cost covered by employer) and references.
This employer has claimed an exception under the Equality Act 2010.
Shift Pattern:
Times to be agreed with employer, but negotiable
