Summary

The QEQM Cardiac Cather Suite has a diverse multi-disciplinary team that comes together to deliver excellent patient care to the cardiac patients of Kent.

I have a team of 5 nurses and an administrator, together we manage emergency work, inpatients and elective patients.

We carry out complex cases such as electrophysiology, cardiac resynchronisation and defibrillating pacing.

Main aspects of the Band 6 role include supporting the Unit manager in the coordination of the day to day running of the cardiac catheter suite, budget control, Stock management, health and safety and infection prevention and control, conducting audits and data collection and reporting and investigating incidents promptly. Ensuring excellent patient care of our patients and their families too. Ensuring patient flow through the cath labs, dealing with any problems that arise and demonstrating excellent clinical practice.

We are one of the largest hospital trusts in England, with five hospitals and community clinics serving a local population of around 800,000 people. Our vision is 'great healthcare from great people'. Everything we do is guided by our values: 'People feel cared for, safe, respected and confident that we are making a difference’. We have a new way of working at East Kent Hospitals, called 'We care'. It's about empowering frontline staff to lead improvements day-to-day. We're looking for compassionate people to be part of our improvement journey for the patients, families and carers we care for every day.
