Summary

Bawso is the lead organisation in Wales providing practical and emotional support to black minority ethnic (BME) and migrant victims of domestic abuse, sexual violence, human trafficking, Female Genital Mutilation and forced marriage.

We are seeking to appoint for the following position:

Support Worker (Domestic abuse)

Location: Swansea

Hours:22.5hrs per week.

Salary: £26,300 per annum pro rata

Contract length: up to 31st March 2027

The worker will be expected to participate in all aspects of Bawso’s work with particular responsibility for the welfare of women and their children in the refuge. You will work closely with clients to develop safety plans, offer emotional and practical support, and connect them with relevant services.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting victims and families fleeing domestic violence, a deep understanding of the challenges they face, and a strong commitment to empowering individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.

This role is restricted to female applicants only in accordance with the provisions of the occupational requirement (Equality Act 2010, pursuant to Schedule 9, Part 1).
