Deputy Care Home Manager
Location: Fallowfield, Manchester
Hours: 37 hours per week
Salary: £33,000 – £36,000 per annum
We are looking for an experienced Deputy Care Home Manager to join a purpose-built residential care setting in Manchester. The home provides high-quality care in a supportive environment for a small group of residents, making this a great opportunity for someone looking to take a leadership role in a close-knit team.
This role is ideal for a senior care professional who is passionate about delivering exceptional care, leading teams, and maintaining compliance.
Working Pattern
2 care shifts per week:
8:00am – 8:00pm
8:00am – 3:00pm
2 supernumerary days per week: 8:00am – 5:00pm
1 full weekend per month
The Role
As Deputy Care Home Manager, you will support the home manager in the daily operations and help ensure excellent standards of care. Key responsibilities include:
Monitoring residents’ nutritional and hydration needs
Supporting and delivering staff training
Providing hands-on care when required
Creating, reviewing, and managing risk assessments
Ensuring policies and procedures are followed
Covering for the manager when needed and reporting on events
Promoting effective communication across teams and with residents and families
Acting as a role model for professionalism, compassion, and excellent customer service
Reporting maintenance issues and ensuring follow-up
Conducting staff supervision and appraisals
Skills & Experience
Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) or at least 3 years’ experience in a senior or management role within a registered care setting
Knowledge of relevant legislation and care standards, including:
Health and Social Care Act 2009
CQC Registration Regulations 2009
Care Act 2014/2015
Experience supporting day-to-day management of a care setting
Passion for delivering high-quality care for older people
Confident using IT systems, email, and digital communication tools
Strong leadership, relationship-building, and influencing skills
Experience managing teams and staffing budgets
