We are looking for a kind, friendly and reliable PA to take over from my wife’s much-loved current PA, who is retiring. This is a rewarding and personal role supporting a 68-year-old woman with advanced multiple sclerosis, based in Shoreham, and we are hoping to welcome the right person to start from the 6th of April.
The position is for three mornings a week, on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 9.30am to 2.00pm. My wife is wheelchair-bound and will need practical, hands-on support throughout the morning. This includes preparing and cooking meals, assisting with eating, and helping her enjoy her day in comfort and dignity. On occasion, the role will also involve driving our adapted van to take her out to meet friends or attend social activities, so confidence driving is important.
Just as important as the practical side of the role is the personal connection. We are looking for someone who is naturally warm, patient and easy to be around, who enjoys conversation and understands the value of companionship. This role is as much about providing friendly support as it is about day-to-day assistance.
To ensure a smooth transition, the successful applicant will spend time shadowing and assisting the main PA before they leave, allowing you to learn routines, preferences and build a comfortable working relationship.
If you are caring by nature, dependable, and looking for a meaningful part-time role where you can genuinely make a difference to someone’s life, we would love to hear from you.
