We are looking for a reliable, proactive, and caring Personal Assistant to support our energetic 10-year-old son. We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic about outdoor activities and happy to engage in fun, physical play, including trips to the park.

Our 10 year old son has a love for the outdoors, parks, and exploring the world around him. He also has a keen interest in the alphabet and numbers and enjoys school.

Our son uses a harness when out and about for safety, and it’s important that the PA is vigilant in ensuring his safety during all activities. He does know how to remove the harness, so it will need to be monitored carefully. The right person for this role will be calm, patient and observant, and respond appropriately to any changes in his environment or needs.

Previous experience working with children is beneficial, as is an interest in outdoor activities, nature, and creative play. The ideal candidate will have the ability to stay calm in different situations, make quick decisions when necessary, and be a good communicator who builds a positive rapport with our son.

Duties include:
- Personal grooming
- Other relevant duties as required
- Transportation
- Companionship

Candidate qualities:
- Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality
- Reliable with good timekeeping
- Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
- Hygienic, tidy and well organised
- Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
- Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
- Honest and cheerful
- Creative
- Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
- Able to always work to high standards of health & safety

Notes:
All applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check if required.

If you are successful in your application for this position, you will be either engaged directly or employed by the individual employer and not by Independent Lives. The role may be offered on an employed or self-employed basis, depending on the suitability and agreement with the employer. If the role is employed, you will be entitled to holiday pay and issued an employment contract.

Please note: If you do not hear back within three weeks of applying, unfortunately your application has not been successful on this occasion.
